John, when did you make this?

This work was part of my ‘Oceaninadrop Collection’, first exhibited in 2019 at Bernaerts auction house in Antwerp.

Okay, cool John. But what materials did you use?

I used crown caps on MDF.

YES…

Ever heard of this quote?

“You are not a drop in the ocean, you are the ocean in a drop.”

It’s from Rumi, a poet from the 13th century. And with it, she wanted to tell us that we are abundant. And have everything we need to create, dream, and achieve whatever we set our minds to.

And when I first discovered that, I thought to myself: ‘WOW, what a beautiful message. I gotta do something with this.’

And guess what? I DID:

Made the beautiful painting you saw on top of this page.
