John John Hoelen (°1968, Antwerp) is a Belgian recycling artist/activist. He studied film at The London International Film School in 1992, but over the years refocused on mosaic and sculpture. In his early years he mainly opted for ceramics and glass, but for the last 5 years he has worked almost exclusively with waste material. What inspires him as an artist is the exploration of neglected materials, something that arose largely from his lifelong concern about the decline of nature and the climate.
