Devoción (a las Santas Llagas) 👇

Curious about how I made this masterpiece?

Check out the FAQ below where I answer all the common questions!

I made this piece in 2023 as part of my Symbols of Unity/Signs of Hope collection.

I used bottle caps, metal lids, flax, various mixed materials, and acrylic paint on MDF.

YES…

This work was originally commissioned, but the client didn’t think it was what he had in mind.

So, I decided to start over, and got inspired by my parents’ devotion to eachother. They, despite being divorced for over 50 years, could never fully let go of each other because of their Catholic vows.

And by their love-hate relationship, full of guilt and forgiveness.

Duh 👇

Though the client didn’t want it, this piece became one of the most personal works I’ve ever made.

Goes to show that creating art (anything worthwile) doesn’t always go as planned. And sometimes, that leads to the most beautiful results.

Sounds good?

And if I were you, I’d hurry up. Because this is a one-of-a-kind piece. And once it’s gone, it’s gone. FOREVER.

P.S.

If this one’s not your style, no worries 😉 — I’ve still got a bunch of other works you haven’t seen. YET…
