Destitute 👇

Curious about how I made this masterpiece?

Check out the FAQ below where I answer all the common questions!

I made Destitute in 2024 as part of my War Journal Collection at my studio in Hoogstraten.

I used ink and bistre on paper.

YES…

I created this work for two reasons:

First, to pay my respect to all the soldiers and and all the victims of the terrible wars happening in today’s world.

And second, because I believe that when it’s war, art is the most important source of hope, comfort and strength.

Which is why I decided to make a work about the stories of war victims and their perseverance. To give you that coveted feeling of hope and peace. And fulfill ‘my duty.’

Hopefully I succeeded! 😉

To me, art has two purposes:

One, it’s a way to turn ideas into something real. Two, it’s a tool for protest. Especially in times of war.

And it’s for that second reason that I created this piece, along with the others in the “War Journal” collection.

If you love this work and want it to be yours...

…send me an email with the work’s name in the subject line. I’ll reply ASAP to discuss pricing and answer any questions you have.

Sounds good?

And if I were you, I’d hurry up. Because this is a one-of-a-kind piece. And once it’s gone, it’s gone. FOREVER.

P.S.

If this one’s not your style, no worries 😉 — I’ve still got a bunch of other works you haven’t seen. YET…
