John, when did you make this?

I first created My Playful Universe in 2019, and it’s been a key part of my Oceaninadrop collection ever since.

Okay, cool John. But what materials did you use?

I used bottle caps on MDF. Each piece is completely unique because I never use the same caps twice.

Thanks John! Is there by any chance also a story behind the artwork?

YES…

This piece made its debut at my first exhibition at Bernaerts. I laid it spirally on the ground, right in the center of the room.

And it’s been a favorite ever since.

(Probably because it brings joy and a splash of color wherever it goes.)
